Loss Entry

The loss entry process is designed to submit an initial loss into Claimen’s database, and identify it with a new claim number and email a notification of this loss to the assigned adjuster as well as a PDF copy of this new loss. The user submitting the loss has the option to receive the PDF copy as an e-mail attachment.

Types of losses permitted will accommodate Auto, Property and General Liability.

A loss form is completed by filling out the insured detail, small amount of policy information and as much detail of the loss that is known. If your organization has its own policy system and has requested customization of iClaimen then policy detail and coverage can be pulled and replicated into the loss notice form.

As you enter the loss detail you may move back and forth between form pages to verify and make changes before submission. There are certain fields like date of loss and loss description to name two that must be filled in before you can submit the loss. The user will be notified if anything is missing and be taken to the proper page to complete the entry.

When the new loss is submitted iClaimen will access the Claimen database and return with the next claim number and assign it to the new loss. An audit trail record is written to the Claimen database to insure that this claim number will be not used again and record its use. A PDF format is made of the loss form and emailed along with the claim number to the adjuster that is assigned to support losses from the entering individual or firm. If the user entering the form wishes to receive this PDF copy it will be attached and e-mailed.

The loss remains in a hold state until the adjuster or claim technician evaluates the loss record and decides to accept it as a working claim or to keep it on hold until more detail can be obtained. User may be able to monitor its status via the report section of iClaimen or by using the individual view report within the loss form.
