Litigation Management

Legal activity is managed through this Litigation Management module where multiple legal records can be linked with a single claimant record. Claimant records must have their "legal" indicator set with a defense attorney assigned.

Legal status is conveyed to both the claimant record and the claim master record to indicate how many claimants in a given claim are in litigation and how many are in suit.

The litigation main screen contains multiple dates that relate to court appearances, case/file, serve, answer, dismissal and trials. Attorneys are assigned for plaintiff, defense, coverage, and declaration relief. Settlement/judgment dates and amounts are recorded as well as appellate activity. Notes are available for a variety of legal situations, up to 32,000 characters per note.

A calendar function is built in that will provide you with a quick view of activity for any day such as number of legal records whose ‘answers’ are due on a given date. Up to eight attorneys can be added to a single legal record and users may choose attorneys from a list or enter them immediately.

Attorney performance can be tracked by selecting the Option drop down feature on the litigation screen. A list of all claims, open and closed, that are assigned to a selected attorney is displayed in a Claims-by-Attorney window. From this window the list of claims can be searched to help make comparisons.
