Claim and Claimants
The claim portion of the claim/claimants contains the general information associated with a loss, such as date of loss, location of loss description of loss etc. The claimant(s) represent the coverage associated with the loss. There may be from one to many claimants for a given loss.
Claimen creates the claim master file and all associated claimant exposures (without additional input) from the information on the loss report, and validates producer, insured and policy data. Initial reserve amounts and statistical coding can be immediately entered. All codes used throughout the system are displayed for selection at the proper prompt.
Once the coding statistics are established, Claimen applies them to all reserve or payment transactions. Thereafter, changes to reserves or check requests are accomplished within moments. Updates to existing claimant records or the addition of new claimants can be easily handled by the system as the investigation progresses. Routine form letters and forms can be created and sent to an individual claimant on demand.
Names, locations, dates, etc. in Claimen facilitate a rapid locate for claims inquiries. Rarely will it be necessary to refer to the "paper" file. File status notes become the journal detailing the action of each claim.
Claimant records can be noted for legal activities, attorney representation, subrogation, salvage or other status changes as soon as the information becomes available. Up-to-date status reports for the "paper" claim file, management or other departments i.e., underwriting, accounting, etc. can be produced within seconds of demand.
